| Throughout the history of Mountain Leader Training, which was initiated in 1964 by the MLTB, the original Mountain Leadership Certificate has undergone considerable change reflecting a natural progression as the scheme evolved towards the current Mountain Leader Award.
On its initiation the MLC was the only nationally recognised qualification for people wishing to lead groups into the mountains.
As time progressed and the award gained widespread recognition people discovered the need for other awards within mountain activities that would allow them to operate in different situations.
The evolution of the award schemes now offers people quality training and assessment in all aspects of leading and instructing people in the Mountains. |

Mountain Adventures has a registered provider of both the Single Pitch Award (SPA) training and assessment courses.
SPA Courses -
Mountain Adventures can run both SPA training and assessment courses.
All courses start on the Friday evening and finish on the Sunday afternoon and will total 20 hours as stipulated by the board. If you are interested in either a training or an assessment course please contact us to ensure there are places on the course. |

| Mountain Leader refresher courses
Mountain Adventures can run Mountain Leader refresher courses for potential Mountain Leaders. These courses are not advertised in our calendar as we find it easier to deal with the client directly and programme a course for their needs at a time which best suits. |
