Why do a Mountain Challenge?

Why do we do it?

There are many factors which dictate and influence our decisions throughout our lives.

Generally, all our decisions fall into three categories as follows:

  • Personal benefit
  • Group benefit
  • Third Party benefit

At Mountain Adventures we offer a a dynamic range of outdoor activities which have been specifically designed to provide an enhanced outdoor experience for small groups with minimal impact on the environment and the local community. We fully appreciate the downside of the mass market and hope that our sensitive approach will be appreciated by all who share our regard for the outdoors.

  • You enjoy mountain walking
  • Objective to improve your fitness
  • Lifetime ambition
  • To test yourself to the limit
  • A group objective
  • To escape from the comfort zone

Challenge events are often undertaken by corporate groups to test the groups ability, interaction and decision-making capability as part of a team building exercise.

Alternatively, challenges are run and administered by charitable organizations as charity fundraising events for worthwhile causes.

Coporate businesses may also structure an outdoor team building exercise as a combined charity fundraiser event; and private groups also do challenges to raise money for charity.

Whatever the reason, the benefit of the experience to the individual cannot be under-estimated...

Tired and near the end of the first day - Lake District 24 Peaks Challenge

For group bonding and a feeling of achievement an outdoor challenge provides the perfect medium to test oneself to your physical and mental limits.

Preparation training is part of the experience and gaining a higher level of fitness is always easier when you are focused towards a specific objective.

We are presented with a variety of challenges throughout our lives and participation in new challenges outside of our normal environment provides us with a better insight and perspective into who we are and how we handle difficult situations.

At the end of the day it is all about learning and stepping out of your comfort zone and ultimately providing us with new experiences which we can take with us into our everyday lives.

Think positive and apply yourself and positive things happen!
